Your EAP Association™ membership is an investment in your own professional growth, and an important building block in strengthening the employee assistance profession.
Corporate
Corporate Membership is designed for organizations, institutions, or companies that support the goals of the employee assistance profession. This includes EAP providers, academic institutions, private corporations, and public sector agencies that either offer or advocate for employee assistance programs.
Corporate members may designate individuals within their organization to represent them in EAPA Nigeria activities. These representatives may participate in chapter-level events and contribute to professional development initiatives. However, corporate entities as a whole may not vote or hold office at the international level.
Professional
An individual currently engaged in employee assistance.
Professional activities, including direct delivery or management of EA services, EA consulting, teaching of EA programming or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university, and EA related research. Professional members may vote and hold office in EAPA at the chapter or branch level. However only professionals currently active in the profession may hold office at the international level.
Practitioner
Practitioner Membership is for individuals who deliver employee assistance services as part of their professional role but may not be involved in management, consulting, teaching, or research. This includes on-the-ground professionals providing direct care, counseling, referrals, or support services to employees and organizations.
Practitioner members are actively involved in improving workplace well-being and mental health. They may vote and hold office at the chapter level, and if currently active in the profession, may also hold office at the international level.
Associate
An individual who is associated with or interested in the field of employee assistance, for example; an affiliate provider, vendor, government official, human resources professional, or other individual not directly engaged in an EA role. Associate members may vote and hold office other than president at the chapter level. Associate members may not vote or hold office at the international level.
Student
An individual who is currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at a nationally or regionally accredited educational institution. Students must submit evidence of their student status annually. Student members may not vote or hold office at the chapter, branch, or international level.
Fellow
Fellow Membership is a distinguished honor granted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of employee assistance. This designation recognizes significant professional achievements, leadership, and long-standing dedication to advancing EAP principles and practices. Fellows are selected based on a demonstrated history of excellence, innovation, and influence within the employee assistance profession.
Fellow members may vote and hold office at both chapter and international levels, provided they are currently active in the profession.
